The placeA single-cone rural property of ancient origin, restored between 2019 and 2024 in the countryside of Maruggio, Salento. Its name appears in a mid-nineteenth century notarial deed: corni from cornuli, the dialect word for the carob trees once rooted here; fiasco perhaps recalling the wine flask — this is where Primitivo comes from.
Inside, original stone vaults define the rhythm of the house. Every element belongs to this place: handpicked antique tiles, pigment-washed walls, linen in earth tones. Two verandas where mornings unfold slowly. A private grove of olive, fig and almond trees. A pool added in 2024. Everything preserved. Nothing added for effect.
At the centre of the property, a secluded pool sits between stone and sky — completed in 2024, the final gesture of a five-year restoration. Afternoons unfold slowly by the water, among warm stone and the sound of cicadas. Evenings stretch under the olive trees.
And when the lights go out: a darkness so complete, and a sky so dense with stars, that guests arriving from northern cities rarely forget it. Two hectares of private land, open from March to December. No shared spaces. No timetables.
